A "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, although it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier, who preaches tolerance, and Magneto, who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test -- triggering the war to end all wars. Some other actors in the film - Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Daniel Cudmore (Piotr "Peter" Rasputin / Colossus), Eric Dane (Jamie Madrox / Multiple Man), Michael Murphy (Warren Worthington II), Dania Ramirez (Callisto), Omahyra Mota (Arclight), Ken Leung (Kid Omega), Mei Melançon (Psylocke),Shohreh Aghdashloo (Dr. Kavita Rao) Alan Cumming was reportedly uncomfortable with the long hours he had to take with the Nightcrawler makeup, but still planned to return for X-Men: The Last Stand. The part for Nightcrawler was so minimal, however, that the studio felt it was not worthwhile to go through the long and costly makeup process, and the character was cut. Nightcrawler's absence was explained in the tie-in game.
